Project Combats Malnutrition Around the Globe

Independence, Missouri — Ron Finke, President of Stewardship Capital, Ltd., an investment management firm based in Independence, recently returned from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where he participated in The Million Meal Challenge.

Finke took part in filling and packaging one million life-saving meals to be delivered to children and families around the globe who are suffering from malnutrition. The Million Meal Challenge is a service project sponsored by The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), an exclusive international association for insurance and financial professionals of which Finke is a life member. This is the MDRT’s largest-ever volunteer effort with over 2,300 volunteers participating and MDRT members contributing in excess of $200k to the cause. Meals were delivered to children and families in Haiti, India, Jamaica, the Philippines and Tanzania.

Ron Finke participated in the Million Meal Challenge during the 2010 MDRT annual conference June 13-17. He worked hands-on with other MDRT members who traveled from 80 nations and territories around the world to assist on the project. “It was a very gratifying experience, working alongside colleagues from diverse cultures for a common purpose,” states Finke. “Each one of the one million meals we packaged and delivered made a difference in someone’s life. One meal at a time, this program makes an impact and I look forward to joining continued efforts for the Million Meal Challenge.”

The Million Dollar Round Table is an international, independent association comprising 31,500+ insurance and financial services professionals from 464 companies. MDRT maintains strict membership standards. Members must demonstrate exceptional industry knowledge and ethical conduct as well as superior customer service standards.
